Ueto Aya - Lotte Soh
If my memory serves me right, this is the third ad on this site featuring Ueto Aya (上戸彩). If you were in Japan you would know she is in almost every ad. And recently she’s been trying her hand at sports commentating. ![]()

Aesthetic salons (エステサロン) are big business in Japan raking in about 4500 billion yen a year. Obviously it is also a highly competitive market so there are quite a few ads featuring well known stars or idols. This commercial features Yuka, a very cute and very popular (to both men and women) tv celebrity.
Kaneshiro Takeshi (金城武) is a Japanese actor but was born and raised in Taiwan. I enjoyed his 2002 movie, The Returner but I thought Lovers/The House of Flying Daggers was so-so. It is surprising that he doesn’t appear in more commercials here. This is an ad for Volvic bottled water.
This one is for all you Ogura Yuko (小倉優子) fans out there and I know there are a few. The ad is for Lotte Mochi Ice Cream delicious!
Don’t have perfect skin? Nevermind, this is the next best thing, perfect foundation. Kato Ai is in this commercial for Kanebo Revue Foundation.
Finally IC cards for public transport in Japan are catching on. After spending some time in Hong Kong I can’t wait until the Japanese equivalents are as useful and widespread as the Octopus card. In this ad Nakama Yukie(仲間由紀恵) is telling everyone that the JR Icoca card (used in the Kansai Area) can also be used in Tokyo (where they use the Suica system). Just this month, Osaka started using the pitapa system. Yay for competing standards…
There are so many vending machines in Japan. Mostly selling drinks. Hot or cold. So in winter you are never far away from a nice hot can of coffee. Kato Ai (加藤あい) is in this Georgia coffee advert. Sato Eriko(佐藤江梨子) and Fujiwara Norika(藤原紀香) also make appearances in Georgia commercials. I’ll see if I can find them in my archives.
